The first three days of the healing process beginning from when you leave the studio are the most important since your tattoo is most "fresh". It is your responsibility to keep your tattoo clean in order to prevent it from getting dirty. I personally reccomend washing your tattoo with warm soapy water using Dial soap or any pump soap that is natural and doesn't have a lot of man made ingredients in it. It's important to wash your tattoo at least 3 times a day and then allow it air dry (if you're in a rush then you can use a clean paper towel to pat it dry. Once your tattoo is dry, you can use a very small amount of ointment (if ointment was not provided to you then

Aquaphor can be used as a last resort). Spread very thinnly with clean hands the ointment across your tattoo just enough to see a light shine.

After 3 days of carefully making sure your tattoo is clean. You can stop using the ointment and switch over to a non scented lotion for skin. Your tattoo will start to peel and dry out after a few days so its important to keep your tattoo moisterized until its done healing. It's imortant to know that everybody heals at different rates as well. It can be anywhere from a one week to four week process.
